Woodside Park Stud announce 2019 fees
Woodside Park Stud’s flagship stallion Written Tycoon (Iglesia) will stand for an unchanged fee of $110,000(inc GST)
during the 2019 breeding season with the Victoria-based stud farm having announced pricing details for their five-strong
stallion roster yesterday. A winner of the Todman Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) as a two-year-old, Written Tycoon has
become one of the leading success stories for Victorian stallions in recent times, siring
28 individual stakes performers including six Group 1 winners.
The sextet are led by former high-class juveniles Written By and Capitalist, who won the
Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) and Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m)
respectively, while that duo were recently joined by the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahratrained Booker,
who landed the Oakleigh Plate (Gr 1, 1100m) in February.
Written Tycoon had 16 lots sell at an average of $326,875 at the recent Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and they
included a $900,000 half-brother to Listed winner Guard Of Honour (Northern Meteor),
who was knocked down to McEvoy-Mitchell Racing and the China Horse Club. James Price, Woodside Park’s general
commercial manager, was understandably buoyant ahead of Written Tycoon’s 13th season in the covering barn,
which will be his second at $110,000.
