Waller arrives in UK
Champion trainer Chris Waller has touched down in the United Kingdom to be with his two stable stars in the lead up to next week’s Royal Ascot Carnival. Both Nature Strip (Nicconi), due to run in the King’s Stand (Gr 1, 5f) on Tuesday, and Home Affairs (I Am Invincible), likely to head for the Platinum Jubilee (Gr 1, 6f) a week tomorrow, have been stationed at Charlie Hills’ Lambourn facility 70 miles west of London and Waller admitted he was impressed with what he saw.
“Yes I am very happy,” Waller told Racing.com. “e horses are great; the colt Home Aairs and Nature Strip are very relaxed. they’ve settled into their surroundings, it’s very peaceful, [I’m] appreciative of Charlie Hills and what he’s offered us. It’s a great setup and it’s certainly a privilege to be here. Let’s hope the next few days are straight forward, but the boys have certainly settled in well.”
