Verry Elleegant’s new trainer Verry excited to welcome champ
Verry Elleegant’s new trainer Francis-Henri Graffard says it’s “a huge honour’ to be entrusted with Australia’s champion mare.
Graffard, who is based at Chantilly, will take over from Chris Waller, with connections opting to race the 2021 Melbourne Cup winner overseas next preparation.
Graffard admitted he will be standing on “the shoulder of a giant” in taking the horse from Waller, but was excited to showcase the Australian star to the rest of the world in Europe.
“It is a huge honour to be entrusted the 2021 Melbourne Cup winner and Champion race mare Verry Elleegant to train for a European campaign,” Graffard said in a statement.
