Sydney jockeys test negative
Two Sydney jockeys that were tested for COVID-19 do not have the virus, Racing NSW reported on Thursday morning.
In a statement, Racing NSW confirmed that their pair, understood to be Hugh Bowman and Tommy Berry, had both tested negative to the deadly virus.
Berry and Bowman were tested as a precaution after they travelled on a charter flight between Melbourne and Sydney on 21 March with Victorian jockey Mark Zahra, who has also been tested for COVID-19 after confirmation on Wednesday that he had shared a flight with a person confirmed to have the virus.
Racing NSW will await the result of the test performed on Zahra before advising of the status of upcoming race meetings, including Saturday’s Group 1 card at Rosehill.
