Santa Ana Lane draws wide
Santa Ana Lane (Lope De Vega) has drawn
the widest berth in barrier ten for Sunday’s
Chairman’s Sprint Prize (Gr 1, 1200m) at Sha Tin
but Sam Freedman, assistant trainer to his father
Anthony, was unfazed by the outcome. “Better
ten than one,” he said. “It’ll let him get into a nice
rhythm and give him space to breathe. The draw
doesn’t really matter given his racing style and
the relatively small field.” Of the other principals,
Beat The Clock (Hinchinbrook) drew barrier six,
Mr Stunning (Exceed And Excel) barrier three and
Rattan (Savabeel) barrier nine.
