Queensland introduces new contact rules
Racing Queensland have implemented a plan to cater for southern visitors entering the state attending next month’s Magic Millions race day. The new plan will run alongside Queensland Health’s Covid-19 protocols, which from January 1, will require any person deemed to be a βvaccinated close contactβ to quarantine for seven days, something that would rule anyone affected out of the $10 million race day. In a plan to minimise the potential number of close contacts, Racing Queensland said they will require clubs to prepare or record a jockeys’ room seating plan to keep a record of where they were seated during the race meeting. Close contacts are currently required to quarantine for 14 days in Queensland, even if they test negative, but that will be halved on January 1.
