More surgery for Brown

Ethan Brown underwent further surgery yesterday evening to assist in recovering from a lacerated liver and kidney issues. Brown went into surgery on Monday at the Royal Melbourne Hospital with the Victorian Jockey’s Association’s chief executive Matthew Hyland awaiting further updates.
β€œWe are yet to get an update on that surgery and hopefully all that goes well and he can hit the road to recovery,” Hyland told Racing.com. β€œThey are the two main issues at the moment [liver and kidneys] and I am sure there will be some focus after that on any secondary issues he has.”
The 23-year-old suffered his injuries when his mount Maximillius (Written Tycoon) fell in last Saturday’s Australian Guineas . He is also believed to have suffered fractures to his vertebrae. Hyland said Brown’s mother had own in from the Gold Coast and, with partner Celine Gaudray, had been by his side since the incident. Brown has been heavily sedated throughout his time in hospital.
