Moody not worried about I Wish I Win

I Wish I Win (Savabeel) remains on course for a defence of his title in the TJ Smith Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) at Randwick on April 6 after finishing third in a trial at Pakenham on Tuesday morning.
The five-year-old, who is trained in partnership by Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman was beaten by the Group 1 performers Stretan Angel (Harry Angel) and Stageman (Written Tycoon).
“We were happy, he ran third, beaten about three lengths over a 1000-metre trial,” Moody said on his podcast Moody On The Mic.
“We were worried they were going to jump out and walk so we rode him up in the trial, rode him right at his top and he got a little bit tired late but pulled up very well.
” The jumpout was I Wish I Win’s second for the autumn ahead of his first-up tilt at the TJ Smith.
“We’ve got two weeks to have a couple of nice gallops to taper him into the TJ Smith now,” Moody said. “He’s sound, he’s happy and he’s healthy – we’re pleased with where we’re at.”
