Million-dollar filly wins trial
$1 million I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) filly Eponymous impressing on her first public hit-out yesterday at Rosehill.
Owned by a Coolmore-led syndicate, Eponymous powered away to a four-and-a half-length win under James McDonald in Heat 8, over 900 metres. The filly was purchased by Andrew Williams Bloodstock for the seven-figure sum from the Coolmore draft at last year’s Inglis Easter sale.
She is out of Caveat (Elusive City), a sister to Group 1 winner Camarilla and Group 1 placegetter Induna. Also showing promise for the champion trainer was Headwater (Exceed And Excel) colt Sorgente. The two-year-old came away with Heat 6 by a half-length margin over Botanica (Written Tycoon).
Snitzel (Redoute’s Choice) gelding Alberich, who took Heat 5 by a neck, led home a stable one-two in finishing ahead of the twice raced Himalaism (I Am Invincible). Churchill (Galileo) filly Super Chilled won Heat 9 by half a length, ahead of the Bjorn Baker-trained Little Baia (All Too Hard).
