Docs continue to monitor Walker
In what is considered some positive news, doctors are slowly reducing the sedation of injured jockey Michael Walker, who remains in intensive care at the Alfred Hospital.
The Victorian Jockey’s Association sent out an update on Thursday on Walker’s condition and while he is still heavily sedated after suffering a head injury, the plan to reduce his sedation is a positive step, according to chief executive Matt Hyland.
“Scans at the Alfred have cleared Michael of internal injuries,” the update said. “Currently in ICU with concussion. Further update as advised.”
Walker was injured when he fell in a jump-out at Pakenham on Tuesday morning.
