Jamie Kah reunited with Nature Strip

Jamie Kah is set to be reunited with Nature Strip (Nicconi) in Saturday week’s Black Caviar Lightning (Gr 1, 1000m) at Flemington after James McDonald has chosen to partner Home Affairs (I Am Invincible) in the $1 million contest. Chris Waller, the trainer of both horses, confirmed the riding arrangements yesterday morning.
“It is disappointing to have to run two horses like this together, but it is also a privilege to have both horses in our care,” Waller said. “James McDonald feels the same way and unfortunately can’t ride both horses. It is likely that James will ride Home Affairs and without going into detail as to the reasons why, it is certainly no reflection on how either horse is going.
In fact, Nature Strip is clearly the best of the two and Home Affairs needs to continue to improve to get up to Nature Strip’s level. I am sure with time he will and whether that be first-up or later in the preparation only time will tell.” McDonald, who has ridden Everest (1200m) winner Nature Strip in 17 of his last 20 starts, was aboard Home Affairs when he was last seen coming home a facile five-length winner of the Coolmore Stud Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) on October 30.
