Winx’s champion jockey Hugh Bowman will return to race riding on July 6 at Rosehill Gardens following a self-imposed eight-week freshen up.

Bowman will ride trials on Friday at Royal Randwick in preparation for the comeback.

The 38-year-old jockey, who has not ridden since May 1, stepped away from racing after Winx’s last preparation and retirement — sighting burn out.

Bowman’s agent Bryan Haskins confirmed the low-key comeback on Wednesday night.

“He was just flat and had enough,” Haskins said.
