Latest form and tips for tonight’s meeting at Moonee Valley

Race 2 – 1600m   MSC Signs Stutt Stakes

 Group 2. Three-Years-Olds

  1. Power Scheme

Won first up last start here at the valley after being gelded. Won by half a length carrying 60 kilos over 1500M. Form before that was a bit patchy but it did win a listed race at Randwick back in April on a soft 5 over 1600 m.

   2. Legionnaire
Also last start listed winner. Won by 0.2 lengths at Flemington over 1400 m carrying 57 kilos.
A very consistent gelding in provincial and a midweek being in the money four times out of his 6 career starts. 6-1-2-1.
  3. Conqueror
Won at Pakenham by 7 lengths on the synthetic over 1400M then freshen for 5 weeks and came fourth at Flemington on a heavy track. Then second here at the valley over 1500M beaten 0.5 lengths (55.5k), had every chance against the winner (and top weight here) Power Scheme (60K).  Both carry 57k today. Hard to see him turn the tables.
  4. The Holy One
Won at Echuca over 1400M second start by 3.8.Lengths on a soft 6 then came out at Sandown 1400M midweek carrying 59 kilos winning by 1.5 lengths, soft 6. Then stepped up in distance and class at Moonee Valley to run 4th beaten by 2.1 lengths on a good track. Laid in under Pressure, needs to improve for mine.
  5. Linchpin
Won at Gawler over 1506 M carrying 55 kilos by 4 lens on a good track back in April. Last run 10th at Flemington beaten 1.9 l Carrying 57 kilos. No match for the winner.
  6. Vegas Knight
Won at Pakenham over 1600M carrying 56 ks by 6 lengths back in July on the synthetic. Then a sweeping third from last at Flemington 1400M beaten 0.3 lengths carrying 53.5 kilos. (winner carried 57 and looks a nice horse having two starts for 2 wins). Will improve over this distance. Beat Conqueror home in the same race.
  7. Serengeti
Second at Cranbourne over 1400M on a soft track last start is best run to date. Others look better.

 Summary;

Power Scheme looks like a more genuine horse with the gelding this prep and has a good winning chance. Legionnaire is a genuine horse that keeps stepping up in grade. Vegas Knight will improve with the extra distance and is a real Place chance.

Race 3   1600M Group 2

1600mTwenty G2 Stocks Stakes

1.Consensus

New Zealand mare having Australian debut. Been out of form a bit lately and would prefer to see.
2.Spanish Reef
Third up from a spell and hasn’t done much since it’s been back, well beaten at Flemington and Caulfield. Last win was back in March at Flemington over 1600M. Prefer to see Improvement before it gets mine.
3. Miss Siska
Second last start, which was her first run for this prep over 1400M at Flemington beaten half a length. Won a handy  race at Bendigo back in March buy 1.5 lengths.  Very genuine.

6. Something Silver

Ocenex
Second it Bendigo last night over 1500m  F &  M benchmark 78. Think others are better at this stage.
 Tides
Last start winner at Bendigo over 1500M in the F&M benchmark 78 winning by 1.2 lengths. Needs to improve.

Summary:

Looks a race between Miss Siska and Princess Jenni. Silent Roar has a good place chance.

8. Ready Set Sale
Only 2 race starts, last start won at Flemington over 1200M good 4 in a Group 3 carrying 55 kilos, was last at the 800.  Was a good tough fighting win.  First start came fourth at Sale over 1212M in a 2-year-old Maiden. Hard to assess but is a place chance.
9. Aten
Good Morphettville form winning last two over there but failed last start at Flemington over 1100M beaten 3.4 lengths. Didn’t look too have too many excuses.
10. Evening Slippers
First up run at Flemington was only fair, though only beaten 1.8 lens had three trials running in to it.
 11. Charleise
One last start at Geelong over 1218M in three-year-old Maiden. Probably needs to improve.
12. Don’ttelltheboss
Won A Maiden at Moe start before last on a heavy 10. Will need to improve.
13. Backpedal
Only one race start for a win at Ballarat on the synthetic,  a Maiden but won by 8 lengths. The horse it beat came out and won it’s next start. On the improve.

Exhilarates should be hard to beat. Loving Gaby is consistent and a Strong Place chance, Vilami is a place chance also. Ready Set Sail for a Roughie.

Race 6 2040m   Ladbrokes JRA Cup

Yucatan

Out of form
Glory Days
Very consistent horse with good form leading up to his third in the Sydney Cup only beaten 1.9 lens. Second run in from spell came fifth at Flemington over 1700 m carrying 60.5 kilos and was 12th back at the 800. Was only beaten 1.2.
Midterm
I didn’t find much when last run at Randwick in the Sydney Cup in April. Transferred to new trainer and first run up was lack luster running 13th at Flemington over 1700 m. Longer distance will suit.
Captain Cook
Should be cherry ripe for this distance. Last run third over 1700 metres at Flemington beaten less than the length. Prior to that second at Caulfield same distance and beaten same margin in listed Stakes.
Kentucky Breeze
Very consistent Galloper winning it’s last here over 2400M. Always up for the fight when challenged.
Wall of Fire
First run in since a spell but has had three Barrier Trials. Last trial at Cranbourne came second on a heavy 10 over 1550M. Form last prep was a bit patchy and may need to improve.
Mosh Music
Won last start at Flemington over 1700 with 54 kilos. Very consistent with a fifth at the valley prior to that but all 4 runs before that were wins, 3 at the valley and one at Bendigo.
Sully
Needs to improve on last two runs
 Top Of The Range
Won at the valley over 2500 back in February benchmark 78 carrying 59 kilos. Up in class.

Summary:

Hard race,  Glory Days is very consistent and was good first up at Flemington. Captain Cook is the Fit horse on the scene and should be cherry ripe for this. Kentucky Breeze is another consistent galloper winning at the valley after he dug deep when getting taken on for the win. Moss Music won Last start at Flemington and he’s form prior is very consistent.
