Flemington possibly moved to Sunday
The predicted return of smoke haze on Saturday has RV officials considering their options should the programmed Flemington meeting need to be cancelled.
“There could be an opportunity, if it becomes like the conditions we’ve experienced in the last 48 hours and doesn’t allow us to race, that we could look at moving the meeting to Sunday,” Racing Victoria’s Paul Bloodworth told RSN927 yesterday. “But we just need to have some more formal discussions with the VRC and monitor the air conditions.
The wind is the main impactor of the smoke haze at the moment and that can change quite regularly.” Meetings at Werribee, Yarra Valley and Caulfield have already been lost this week due to the poor air quality.
