First for I Am Immortal

First for I Am Immortal

Swettenham Stud-based first season sire I Am Immortal (I Am Invincible) registered his first individual winner yesterday when I Am Velvet (2 f ex Black Velveteen by Domesday) got off the mark at the first time of asking in a maiden event over 1000 metres at Pakenham.
The two-year-old filly defeated Juviance, a daughter of fellow first-season sire Exceedance (Exceed And Excel), by a quarter of a length. Peridot Star (Shalaa) came home a further two and three-quarter lengths further back in third. I Am Velvet is out of winning mare Black Velveteen (Domesday), making her a half-sister to four-time winner Tobysure (Cable Bay). I Am Immortal stood the 2023 season for a fee of $13,750 (inc GST).
