Currie suffers a C7 fracture and broken ribs
Currie suffers fracture and breaks ribs in Valley fall Luke Currie faces a stint on the sidelines after suffering multiple injuries in a fall at Moonee Valley on Friday night. Currie, who had been due to ride favourite Hanseatic in yesterday’s Blue Diamond Stakes, was taken to hospital with suspected concussion after falling shortly after the finishing line in the final race on the card when his mount Yulong June (More Than Ready) clipped heels.
It was later revealed he had suffered a C7 fracture and broken ribs in the incident. Victorian Jockeys Association executive officer Matt Hyland said yesterday morning that Currie was “comfortable, but obviously disappointed”.
