Clarken to keep SA stable open

Clarken to keep SA stable open

Last week’s announcement that South Australia will have almost $6 million added to
it’s prize-money is enough to keep Will Clarken
in the state. Clarken had his sights on setting up a stable in Victoria but he told Racing.com
yesterday that he has decided to keep the majority of his team in South Australia. “I am
looking at applying for a Victorian trainer’s license in the not-too-distant future but it
will only be for a satellite stable,” Clarken said. “I am here to stay for a while. I really love
South Australia and I feel that good things are happening. I feel the money that the TRSA got
from the government is only a small percentage of what the Point Of Consumption tax brings in
and I think they have placed it really well. They have really driven it into the grassroots of racing
and I think that it’s going to give us a chance to keep the lower end of our stable alive with the
lesser-grade horses and keep up with the rest of Australia. You have to be realistic and have
a commercial reality for everything. If they are not up to metropolitan grade, for me, we move
them on. That will still be the case but bringing young horses on, it’s nice to be able to take
them to the provincial races and actually get some prize-money back.”

Great rap from trainer John McArdle on outstanding colt by
SO YOU THINK!!

Ask me for the audio report after today’s trackwork!

We loved this colt was the one horse we wanted to buy at the Magic Millions on the Gold Coast….I’ve only just started syndicating him now, tend to do so in groups and not all my purchases at once.

The sire is a gun and doing a great job at stud with 5 Gr 1 winners already, lots more to come….D’ARGENTO, INFERENCE, LA BELLA DIOSA, NAKEETA JANE, SOPRESSA

Big strong powerful colt out of a Not A Single Doubt mare (the sire now stands at $110k per serve)…..this colt could well go as an earlier 2yo than most of the breed.

He is the 2nd foal out of the mare and I love buying 2nd foals as the roll call of champions that have been 2nd foals is incredibly impressive!

Even better is that he went through the breaking-in process and he went terrific through it…..very natural! He’s also had an educational prep and in another one at the moment and John really likes what this colt is showing him, as does his main rider Jamie Mott.

I’m keeping 10%…. More Info
