Catalyst to rely on natural improvement – Trainer Clayton Chipperfield

Catalyst and Alligator Blood will meet again in the Australian Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) on Saturday week but trainer Clayton Chipperfield will not re-apply blinkers to his son of Darci Brahma (Danheill) and will instead rely on natural improvement and weight relief to turn the tables on the Magic Millions Guineas (RL, 1400m) winner.
 “It’s probably better we don’t put them on because if it ends up another dogfight like that, we’d like for Catalyst to be able to see what’s right beside him,” Chipperfield told RSN 927’s Racing Pulse. “To be beaten a half head by an absolute superstar gives us more confidence going into the mile.
