$5.8m prize-money increase for SA racing

Thoroughbred Racing South Australia on Friday announced an increase of $5.8 million in prizemoney.
A total of 69 per cent of the extra funds has been allocated to provincial and country
races, with 88 per cent of the annual races in SA to increase by between 11 and 35 percent.
The new prize-money increases come into effect on September 1. More than 60 per cent
of metropolitan races will attract $50,000 prizemoney, $45,000 races increase to $50,000,
$35,000 non-maiden races go to $40,000 and$30,000 maiden races increase to $35,000.
Meanwhile, provincial non-maiden racesincrease from $15,000 to $20,000, provincial
maidens increase from $13,000 to $17,500,all country cups rise from $20,000 to $25,000,
country races rise from $12,000 to $15,000 and country maiden races increase from $10,000 to
$13,000.
