212 individual stakes winners for More Than Ready
Former Vinery Stud shuttler More Than Ready (Southern Halo) sired his 212th individual stakes winner on Sunday when Slipstream (2 c ex Cake Baby by Stormy Atlantic) took out the Futurity Stakes (Gr 3, 6f) at Belmont. The Christophe Clement-trained colt stayed on to overhaul Run Curtis Run (Summer Front) by a length with Biz Biz Buzz (Fed Biz) a further half-length back in third. Bred by Burleson Farm & McKenzie Bloodstock, Slipstream was purchased by Northshore Bloodstock on behalf of Jump Sucker Stable for $170,000 at the Keeneland September sale.
The third foal out of stakes-placed mare Cake Baby (Stormy Atlantic), who herself is a half-sister to stakes winner Native American (Indian Charlie), Slipstream is a half-brother to turf winner Too Sexy (Quality Road). More Than Ready now resides full-time at WinStar Farms in Kentucky where his 2021 fee was listed as $65,000 (approx. AU$88,930).
